Epworth (located in Columbia, SC) seeks a qualified individual who will, under regular supervision, provide supervision and direct instruction to children during program hours. This individual will assist in preparing the classroom and instructional materials for daily activities and special events. He/She will work directly with children individually and in groups on learning activities as specified in the program plan/goals. The Instructional Assistant will also assist in housekeeping tasks as required to maintain clean and sanitary facilities and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent, preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS: Previous experience with toddlers and pre-school aged children; Experience and/or training with children who have developmental delays/disabilities, preferred; Ability to complete required professional development trainings online and/or in person within ninety (90) days of hire and then annually. Physical ability to lift children up to five years of age. Must be able to pass standard background checks and pre-employment drug test.
