The Cabinet of the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church comprises the resident bishop and the 12 district superintendents. Its purpose is to “equip the Church in its disciple-making ministry.” (2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline ¶401)

The Cabinet provides oversight and direction for the work of the conference, districts and local churches. The Cabinet works prayerfully as a team to match the gifts of the pastors to the needs of the churches in appointments, which are fixed by the bishop at Annual Conference each year.

District superintendents assist the bishop in creating a healthy culture that engages faith, the community and the connection, so that churches are agents of transformation and grace.

The Extended Cabinet includes members of the Cabinet, as well as the conference treasurer, the conference lay leader, and the directors of Clergy Services, Congregational Development and Connectional Ministries.
