Transition retreats for moving pastors and SPRC chairpersons or their designees are scheduled across the conference on four dates in May.
“Letting Go & Taking Hold” is designed to assist pastors and churches in the transition of a new pastoral appointment. It will feature a presentation by certified clergy coach Mark Tidsworth, small group dialogue, fellowship and lunch, individual reflection, and commissioning.
Moving pastors are invited to come for the day, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. SPRC chairpersons or their designees may come for lunch and the afternoon session, from noon to 3 p.m.
The cost is $10/person, to be paid with online registration, and .5 CEUs will be awarded to pastors.
Attendees are encouraged to take part in the retreat in the tri-district where they currently serve. If you have a conflict on that date, you may attend another retreat:
- May 8 – Charleston, Orangeburg, Walterboro districts – Indian Field UMC, 2030 U.S. 15 North, St. George (registration has closed for this retreat)
- May 22 – Columbia, Rock Hill, Greenwood districts – Mt. Horeb UMC, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington
- May 24 – Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg districts – Mauldin UMC, 100 E. Butler Ave., Mauldin
