Ashford Memorial Methodist Church, a congregation with 200 members, is seeking a dynamic and outgoing associate pastor to be a minister to all our youth and a leader in their spiritual growth and Christian education.
Qualifications for Associate Pastor
Needed:
- Foundational knowledge of the Bible
- Beliefs consistent with those of Ashford Methodist
- Ability to relate well to youth and their parents
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
Preferred:
- Some college credits
- Experience working with youth, particularly middle and high school students
Job Duties
Essential:
- AMMY (coordinate, plan, lead)
- Create calendar of activities
- Coordinate staff and plan Sunday School curriculum for all youth (Pre-K to 12)
- Lead middle and high-school Sunday School lessons
- Coordinate nursery staff
- Plan and implement special events (i.e., VBS, Christmas pageant)
Additional:
- Preach on occasion
- Fill in for preacher if necessary (with administrative tasks, general visitation, and other pastoral care duties)
- Serve as an ex-officio member of the executive board and attend meetings
- Visit local schools
- Other duties as assigned
Starting Salary (based on education and experience):
- $35,000
