UMCSC Disaster Recovery is offering volunteers and local churches the chance on Jan. 18 and Jan. 20 to make a difference in the lives of families still working to rebound from last year’s Hurricane Florence.
UMCSC Disaster Recovery has been awarded a $62,000 grant from the One SC Fund to help families rebuild and repair homes that were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Florence.
On Sept. 21, 140 volunteers from across South Carolina gathered in Chesterfield and Marion counties to work on 11 homes damaged a year ago by Hurricane Florence.
The American Red Cross has donated more than $400,000 in support of the Hurricane Florence recovery efforts of the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
The United Way of Chesterfield County has given a $29,847 grant that will allow UMCSC Disaster Recovery to assist families whose homes were damaged in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
