With the new year came new benefits for active clergy and employees of the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

That includes a new dental plan through Cigna and vision coverage via VSP (Vision Service Plan).

While Blue Cross Blue Shield mails ID cards to plan participants, Cigna and VSP do not. Here’s what you need to know about those:

VSP

VSP does not automatically issue ID cards. Go to vsp.com to read more about how to use your benefits and how to file a claim for reimbursement. You’ll need to create an account before you can access your benefits.

Cigna

Cigna does not mail ID cards to participants, but you can go to mycigna.com to access an electronic ID card. You’ll need to create an account before you can access your benefits.

Once you log in (scroll down and look for the “ID CARDS” button), you can either print an ID card or request that Cigna send one to you.

You also can access dental benefits via the myCigna app, which is available at the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store.
