JOB SUMMARY: The Director of the Family Care Center (FCC) located at Epworth Children’s Home is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the FCC program and ensuring that the Center maintains best practice standards and fidelity to program procedures, policies, and goals. The Director is also responsible for enhancing the collaboration, cooperation, and effectiveness of the partnership between LRADAC and Epworth in program delivery, and for professionally representing the FCC to referring agencies and other stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and schedule program work plan in accordance with specifications and funding limitations; oversee daily operations and coordinates activities of program. Hire, train, and supervise the Epworth personnel who are responsible for residential life, including Case Manager, Cottage Coordinator, Family Care Specialists, and Parent Child Educator. Coordinate activities of program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications. Advise the respective LRADAC and Epworth Administrative Teams concerning FCC program developments, plans, and needs. Ensure adequate supervisory coverage for the FCC program, including on-call support 24 hours each day throughout the year. Prepare periodic reports on program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for management or outside agencies. Participate as needed in the evaluation of the program’s effectiveness. Interact and maintain liaison with stakeholders and outside/community agencies as needed to facilitate program objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field, and two years administrative/coordinator program experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. LISW – CP, LPC, or LMFT is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of organizational and supervisory practices and principles. Skill in organizing work of self and others. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Knowledge of child development, family system dynamics, and substance abuse recovery principles.
