Job title: Children’s Director
Compensation: $11,000 – $16,000 per year
Reporting to: Senior Pastor
Hours: 10 – 12 hours per week
30+ hours on VBS week ($1000 bonus upon completion)
This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of all children’s programming at St. James UMC with the purpose of initial and continued discipleship.

Key responsibilities & duties
Children’s Ministry
Responsible weekly for all aspects of Children’s Church, Nursery, and Kids Club.
Responsible for special events including outings, family fun days, and mission projects.
Responsible for Vacation Bible School and all its crazy aspects (will require extra hours).
Coordinate with Church Administrator in supervising and scheduling children’s church, nursery, and kid’s club workers/volunteers.
Assist Church Administrator and Communications Coordinator in promotion and communication of Children’s events.
Ensure all Safe Sanctuary policies are followed including making sure those responsible for children have current background checks and training.
Be present, as you are able, for children’s events outside of church (plays/sports)
Lead children’s time during worship.
Expected on location hours:
Sundays: 9:00am – noon and 3:15pm – 5:45pm
Other special events as needed
