First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Wilson, North Carolina, seeks a creative and collaborative Youth Pastor who has a passion for discipleship among students (grades 6-12) and their families.  The Youth Pastor will partner with parents, grandparents, and adult volunteers to lead middle and high school students to grow into deeply committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

FUMC has an established youth ministry in a large and vibrant congregation in Wilson.  This position will build on that existing program and will expand the ministry to encompass holistic spiritual nurture of our youth and families within the church and in the community. The Youth Pastor will be part of a team with support personnel and volunteers from our community. The work schedule will be a flexible 40 hours per week, with responsibilities on Sundays, Christian holy days, some evenings, and some weekends.

The primary focus of the Youth Pastor is to lead youth and their families to develop a strong Christian faith in the United Methodist tradition by building and supporting teams of adult volunteers to teach, mentor and sustain ministry activities. These activities include weekly Sunday morning classes, Sunday evening fellowship and small and large group faith development time as well as community service and missions, Bible studies, conferences, fun events and maintaining a presence in the lives of students outside of church.  For more information, please visit our website here.
