The Cabinet of the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church consists of the resident bishop and the 12 district superintendents. Its purpose is to “equip the Church in its disciple-making ministry.” (2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline ¶401)
The Cabinet provides oversight and direction for the work of the conference, districts and local churches. The Cabinet works prayerfully as a team to match the gifts of the pastors to the needs of the churches in appointments, which are fixed by the bishop at Annual Conference each year.
