LOCATION(S):     Epworth Independent Living – Trenholm Campus

Independent Living Specialists ensure staff supervision of clients living full time on campus or coming to campus for breaks.  Ensure clients have all supplies needed for meals and daily living needs.  Accompany clients to buy groceries and clothes and other needs not provided by regular supply process. Provide transportation and adult supervision of clients living in apartment settings to ensure that campus rules are followed and any violations are addressed with the client and reported to the Senior Director of the Institute of Child and Family Well-being, Independent Living Director and Case Manager.  Administer prescribed medication to clients in the dorm.   Provide a safe, structured, supervised, clean environment in the dorm and on/off campus while serving as a role model and teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor’s Degree in human service field, or two (2) year Associate Degree in Human Service field and two (2) years of experience in working with children or adolescents

REQUIRED SKILLS:  Significant life experience in working with children and adolescents (i.e. group residential counselor, church/youth experience, camp counselor, etc.)  Demonstrated ability to use sound discretion and good judgment in developing and implementing decisions.  Must be able to pass standard background checks and pre-employment drug test.

The positions hours are:
Friday: 5:30pm – 10:30pm
Saturday: 2pm – 10pm
Sunday: 10:30am – 6:30 pm

Every other weekend.
