Job Summary: The Director of Student Ministries is tasked with serving and building a thriving student ministry that aligns with the vision and mission of Providence Church. This person will have overall responsibility for leading or overseeing all ministry areas for young people and their families from 6th grade through high school and transitioning to young adults. These areas include worship, small groups, monthly gathering, and connecting to other ministries. This person will play a key role in empowering the entire church to be in ministry with students.

Qualifications:

  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to serve God and live out Providence Church’s vision and mission
  • A calling and a passion for student ministry
  • A heart for the spiritual formation of students
  • Demonstrated experience in ministry with students
  • Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading students and volunteer teams
  • Skilled in the use of technology and social media
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing budgets
  • Proven leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain healthy and encouraging relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and volunteers
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; MDiv preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all middle and high school student and young adult activities
  • Lead student ministry staff and volunteers
  • Schedule, plan, and oversee the monthly student gathering, “Wake”
  • Develop and lead the leadership team for student ministries
  • Develop and oversee all student ministries volunteers
  • Develop and implement a discipleship path for students
  • Recruit, train, and support small group leaders and hosts
  • Empower and incorporate students in life of the church (Worship, Care, Hospitality, Children’s, and Outreach ministries, etc.)
  • Schedule, plan and oversee trips and events for students
  • Communicate regularly with parents of students
  • Discern and develop ministry strategies for young adults
  • Implement Safe Sanctuary training for all volunteers and staff relating to student ministries, and ensure compliance by all parties
  • Maintain regular contact and coordination with other staff members
  • Manage student budget, including budget planning, purchasing, keeping track of disbursements, and submitting related paperwork
  • Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Occasional preaching at weekend services
  • Other projects or duties as assigned by supervisor
