JOB SUMMARY:   The Director of the Counseling Center is responsible for the oversight, staff supervision and coordination of The Center’s mental health and counseling services.  The Director of the Counseling Center will provide vision and leadership in establishing and monitoring the scope and direction of the Counseling Center, ensuring its operation is consistent with national standards of practice.  Provide sound fiscal management of the Counseling Center budget. Oversee the provision of time-efficient, culturally informed individual and group counseling and related services through training, consultation, supervision and evaluation of the activities of the Counseling Center’s clinical professionals and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Ph.D/Psy.D.in clinical or counseling psychology preferred; Professional license in the state of South Carolina required.  Professional licenses may include LISW, LPC or LMFT.  Minimum of five years of experience working in a mental health setting with supervisory responsibilities. Prefer seven years of progressive experience with at least two years in a leadership position.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations, and treatment assessments.  Must be proficient with various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic communication. Know or have the ability to quickly learn any database system required.  Must be able to pass standard background checks, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry.
