LOCATION(S): Columbia, South Carolina

JOB SUMMARY: The administrative assistant split time as an admin between the Senior Director of the Institute of Child and Family Well Being and the Foster Care Program. For the Foster Care Department – the admin will be responsible for sending and tracking all criminal background checks, tracking and recording Foster Parent Training, weekly population reports, filing paperwork timely, running and maintaining all background checks for perspective Foster Parents, assisting with all Foster Care special events, working with set-up, ordering food and snacks, ensuring all supplies that are needed, as well as other duties as assigned to assist the department.
For the Senior director – the admin will; schedule meetings and appointments, generate memo and reports, respond to all questions and requests timely, answer incoming calls and other receptionist duties as necessary, develop and maintain a filing system, take meeting minutes, and
other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Two years administrative experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Computer experience and/or training in Microsoft and Excel. Has a belief system and engages in faith practices that are compatible with those of the United Methodist Church.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Demonstrates practical application and experience with technology such as database functions/reports, Microsoft Word and Excel, internet/email usage, etc. Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Exhibits strong customer services Must be able to pass standard background checking, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry, and Sex Offenders Registry.
