Assembly 2010 The 18th Assembly of United Methodist Women April 29 - May 2, 2010 St. Louis, Missouri Faith. Hope. Love in Action!

The Assembly Scripture:

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints— the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. Colossians 1:3-6 NIV

United Methodist Women assemble every four years to celebrate, to lift up, to learn, and to return to their communities better equipped for mission. Tens of thousands of women have been meeting in this fashion since 1942 in a unified effort to stay at the forefront of the work being done both locally and globally to improve and sustain the lives of women, children and youth.

Assembly 2010 has been themed: “Faith. Hope. Love in Action.” Chosen because it encapsulates the 140 year history of United Methodist Women, it says everything about what is happening on the ground today, and is the momentum for decades to come. Faith. Hope. Love in Action is the energy that moves through each woman that has pledged her time for service through United Methodist Women.

It is an exciting experience to be part of this large gathering of United Methodist Women. Make plans to join us in St. Louis!

REGISTRATION:
Online Registration is $215.00 per person until 11/30/09. After 11/30 midnight cost will be $250.00 per person.
Paper mail in form is $250.00 from 6/09-4/10/10.

HOTEL:

• 25 rooms have been blocked at the MILLENNIUM HOTEL -Approximately 1 mile from the Convention Center.  (The Assembly will provide shuttle to and from the hotel)
• The cost per night is $126.00 (tax included)
• You will be responsible for making your hotel reservations. 
• Reservation Number is 1.800.325.7353.

Tranportation Arrangements:

• The cost for the trip by bus to St. Louis is $155.00 per person.
• The first payment is due to Conference Assembly Liaison (CAL), Alfa Tisdale, by October 30, 2009.
• The balance of the bus transportation is due in full by January 15, 2010.
• Pick up points are Charleston, Columbia and Spartanburg

CANCELLATION POLICY:
NO REFUND WILL BE HONORED AFTER JANUARY 15, 2010
Because of the distance to travel to St Louis we will leave on Thursday April 29th and return HOME ON MONDAY May 3, 2010. (The Conference does not start until Friday evening April 30TH, and conclude on  SUNDAY at Noon,  MAY 2, 2010).  We will spend one night on the road to St. Louis and one night upon return home.

HOTEL COST ON THE ROAD:

• The cost per room per person for the two nights on the road is $146.00 with two people sharing a room. Therefore the cost of the room is $73.00 PER PERSON.
• The total cost for the bus and the hotel on the road will be $ $228.00 with two persons sharing a room.   (One half of this total amount is due to CAL. Alfa Tisdale by October 10, 2009)
