From the President’s Pen
Ladies, what a marvelous journey we have had thus far.
On April 2nd, our Day Apart retreat was a time for all of us to rekindle our spirit. The Pleasant Ridge Camp And Retreat Center was so beautiful. Reverend Robin Dease spoke about Shalom.
Our Spiritual Growth retreat at Lake Junaluska, held April 29th thru May 1st was a great opportunity to meet with other Methodist women from all over South Carolina. Our guest speaker was Ms. Angella C. Felder. Her theme was “Worshipping God in the Midst of it All”. The Greenville District was represented by 36 women.
It was a special honor to install the women at Zoar Methodist Church on May 10th.
From the Greenville District of United Methodist Women, we welcome all these wonderful ladies and look forward to seeing them at future events.
On May 17th, the gifts of love for the five mission projects were given at Trenholm United Methodist Church. Thank you Greenville District units for your participation.
June 4th afforded us another trip to Columbia. We met at Francis Burns United Methodist Church for the annual “Come Together, Be Together” meeting. This is always an uplifting, fun time for the South Carolina United Methodist Women to get together and learn so many different things, from Clowning Ministry to recycling.
Looking forward, we have the School of Christian Mission at Spartanburg Methodist College on July 21-24th. On August 13th, the Youth Event will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Spartanburg, SC. We look toward our 39th Annual Meeting at John Wesley United Methodist Church scheduled for September 17th. All presidents please encourage your unit to attend both the Worship Service and the Business session.
Remember to continue reaching your goals for this year.
