Email can be provided for churches and other authorized agencies. Additionally, all clergy with the conference have an email address; it is web-based or pop-enabled. Also, email can be set-up to auto-forward.
Hints & Issues
Total Records: 7
Message Box Full
If you use use auto-forwarding and do not tell the mailserver to delete the messages, your inbox will become full and you will not be able to receive incoming messages. Making sure the box (right below your auto-forward address) on the Holiday Settings in Options IS CHECKED resolves this problem.
New Interface Is Here
We have been updating the new AJAX interface for webmail. There are a few finishing touches to get it ready. As with all things new, there will be some glitches/issues that need to be addressed, but the interface is a vast improvement over the existing view.
non alphanumeric characters in email contact list
There is an issue with non alphanumeric characters in the email contact list for mail accounts.
If a contact's last name is O'Shea or something similar save the last name as OShea in your address book; meaning leave the non alphanumeric character out of the last name.
Phishing - Email requesting personal information
The IT department or any other agency within the conference will not send email requesting your username or password for your email account.
Request for Email Passwords
We will never ask for your email user or password.
If you get an email asking for that information, delete it immediately.
Thanks
Sending Limit 10 MB
The mail size (including attachments) is 10 MB.
Although the SC Conferemce Mailserver can send/receive mail with the 10 MB limitation, other mailservers may not accept messages of that size.
To check your mail over the web.
The first thing you will need to do is to point your browser to www.umcsc.org.
On the second menu item on the left is a link titled Email.
Click on the link and you will be asked your user name and password.
Enter those two fields and you will then be taken to the Electronic Mail page.
In this page you can check, compose and send email messages.
