The South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church is seeking a disaster recovery case manager to work with Hurricane Florence-related clients.

This hourly (non-exempt) employee will be working throughout Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Horry, Marion and Marlboro counties, serving as a primary point of contact to facilitate access to a broad range of resources, addressing the client’s complex disaster recovery needs. This is a grant-funded position with an expected term of 6-18 months.

UMCSC Disaster Recovery coordinates its efforts with the state Emergency Management Division and other non-profit groups through South Carolina Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.

The goal of UMCSC Disaster Recovery is to accompany communities in need over the long haul of their recovery until a “new normal” is established after a crisis. It works with homeowners who might be on fixed incomes, can’t afford insurance, and don’t qualify for federal disaster assistance.
