The Advance Special Ministries network is an accountable, designated giving arm of the United Methodist Church that ensures that 100 percent of each gift reaches its intended mission or ministry. It supports 16 South Carolina agencies whose purposes are consistent with the goals of the UMC and the South Carolina Conference.

Aldersgate Special Needs Ministry provides homes for adults with special needs, where residents live in a loving Christian environment, overseen by a dedicated professional staff. The homes provide life skills training and work experiences, along with daily living skills, cooking, laundry, self-help, social and recreational experiences and connections to worshiping communities.

Camps & Retreat Ministries welcomes and gathers children, youth and adults into the community of the body of Christ through camping experiences at a place set apart.

United Methodist Campus Ministries at 17 colleges and universities provide a safe “home away from home” for college students.

Salkehatchie Summer Service is a servant ministry at 46 camp sites that gets more than 2,000 high-school- and college-age youth, adults, and people of different cultures involved in upgrading housing, helping persons help themselves, and providing all with opportunities for personal growth and service.

South Carolina Ministries with Young People is a ministry to youth and young adults in the South Carolina Conference. Throughout the year, SCMYP provides multiple opportunities for young people from across the state to come together in worship, service and fellowship at events such as Revolution and Immerse.

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission promotes, encourages and enables South Carolina volunteers to exemplify “Christian Love in Action” through short-term mission opportunities, often in the wake of disasters.
