Mark your calendar for “Imagining Stewardship: Eight Important Questions,” a stewardship symposium scheduled for Jan. 26, 2018, at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary of Lenoir‐Rhyne University in Columbia.
Pastor Charles Lane, the keynote speaker, will examine eight questions to help focus congregational stewardship ministry on God’s word and suggest year‐round practices that will engage congregants and deepen the connections between faith and generosity.
Stewardship ministry in any congregation can be strengthened by asking key questions that both assess current practices and imagine new ways to encourage generous living.
Lane serves as pastor for stewardship and generosity at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Previously he worked as a consultant with Kairos and Associates, and served as director of the Center for Stewardship Leaders at Luther Seminary, director for stewardship key leaders in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, assistant to the Bishop in the Northwestern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA, and pastor of three congregations, one in Pennsylvania and two in Minnesota.
He is the co‐author of “Embracing Stewardship: How to Put Stewardship at the Heart of Your Congregation’s Life,” the author of “Ask, Thank, Tell: Improving Stewardship Ministry in Your Congregation,” and the author of two annual stewardship programs, “Because of God’s Great Mercy” and “Walk with Jesus.”

The symposium will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Stavros Lecture Hall of the Virginia Casey Building at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary of Lenoir‐Rhyne University, 4201 N. Main St., Columbia.
