Multiply Your Impact_250 x 250-rev3Imagine No Malaria has set a goal of raising $250,000 in support on Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2014 to help save children in Africa from a preventable disease. Giving Tuesday is part of an international movement that emphasizes giving instead of receiving through supporting researched and approved organizations.

Imagine No Malaria, an initiative of the people of The United Methodist Church, is committed to ending death and suffering from malaria through prevention, communication, training health workers, supporting health infrastructure and grassroots education.

The goal is raise $75 million before the denomination’s General Conference in 2016 to help eliminate deaths and suffering from malaria. Imagine No Malaria has so far raised 82 percent of its goal with more than $64.5 million in gifts and pledges.

Last year, Giving Tuesday generated more than $6.5 million in online giving to United Methodist projects through the Advance. Imagine No Malaria received more than $210,000 for Imagine No Malaria.

The United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries announced it will match up to the first $1 million in gifts made online to any project through The Advance starting at midnight EST on December 2.
