Hurricane Florence: Coping after a natural disaster

The HealthFlex Employee Assistance Program includes a free resource available to everyone in the South Carolina Annual Conference – regardless of whether you are on a HealthFlex plan or not.

Coping After A Natural Disaster” is a guide offered by Optum Inc. that walks you through what is available in the Employee Assistance Program, including:

  • Disaster Planning & Recovery Center – Information on preparing for and recovering from natural disasters, as well as links to national organizations.
  • Coping Center – Supportive resources to help you deal with the emotional effects of a disaster.
  • Optum Public Crisis Line – This emotional support helpline – 866-342-6892 – is free and available to anyone, so you can share it with family and friends. Caring professionals will connect people to resources. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
