Bishop L. Jonathan Holston has issued a special appeal to all United Methodist men in South Carolina to attend “Rooted: Grow Deep, Live Strong,” a spiritual gathering with one purpose – to equip United Methodist men to become someone God can use in their families, churches and communities.
The Feb. 17-19 event at Christ United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach is designed to help men grow deeper in faith through worship, music and workshops conducted by leading pastors and laity in ministry to men.

“I pray that every United Methodist man will hear the call to come see what God has planned for us and to discern what our roles should be – in our churches, in our communities and across our state,” said Holston, resident bishop of the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
“I encourage our pastors to come and to bring the men of their congregations with them, and I encourage men to come and to bring their pastors with them.”
The weekend is designed specifically to help men stay planted in the fertile soil of salvation, keep in the full sun of Jesus, and be watered well by God’s word.
Methodist men of South Carolina believe that, by disciplining men, the church will grow. As the church grows, the world will be a better place, one soul at a time.
Come join us. Come see what God is doing through men in South Carolina. Come with open minds, thirsty to soak up spirit of Christ.

- The Rev. Jim Cowart, lead and founding pastor of Harvest Church, a United Methodist church in Warner Robins, Georgia. Cowart also helps develop leaders at churches across the nation.
- Romal Tune, a speaker, author, strategic consultant and cultivator of purpose and passion that equips teams to maximize performance and allow God to redeem their stories.
- The Rev. Darren Hook, senior pastor of Covenant United Methodist Church in Greer, South Carolina.
- The Rev. Earl Bradshaw, lead pastor of Mill Grove United Methodist Church in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
You can still register online, or just show up and register at the door! Registration fee is $90 ($120 w/ spouse), and $45 for clergy ($75 w/spouse). The registration fee does not cover the cost of housing or meals.
