Rev. Tim Rogers

Bishop Holston has announced that Rev. Tim Rogers, of Mt. Hebron UMC in Columbia will replace Rev. Dickie Knight as the Marion District Superintendent. Rev. Knight, who has served the Marion District Superintendent since 2010 will be retiring at the 2015 Annual Conference.

Rogers was born in Manning, South Carolina, the son of Joseph and Kathleen Rogers. The youngest of three children, he grew up attending Manning UMC. After graduating from the University of South Carolina and the USC Law School, he practiced law for a time with his father. But in 1983 he heard a call to the ministry and entered Duke Divinity School. He graduated in 1986 and was ordained as an elder in 1988. He pastored churches in Greeleyville-Lane, Hemingway, Red Bank, and Darlington before serving the Annual Conference for seven years as the Conference Secretary and the Coordinator of Clergy Services. He has served as the Senior Pastor of Mt. Hebron UMC since June of 2012.

He is married to Meri Lyn, the daughter of Ted and Peggy Gardner of Manning, and they have one daughter, Emily Rogers Evans. He enjoys reading, family time, travel, and yard work.
