Benefits administrator Connie McCutchen is saying goodbye after a decade of service to the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. Her last day will be Aug. 31, after which she plans to move to Virginia.

“Connie has been a valuable asset to the Annual Conference over the last 10 years,” said the Rev. David Anderson, the conference pension and health benefits officer. “She has been instrumental in the implementation of the Well Being aspects of our health benefits and coordinated the Blueprint for Wellness health screening at Annual Conference each year.

“Connie has always been a calming influence in the storm of our busiest times of the year, such as open enrollment and appointment change.”

McCutchen is responsible for benefits administration for half of the conference’s 12 districts, and serves as primary backup to payroll processing within the Conference  Center.

She and her husband are moving “back to where we met and where we call home.”

“This has always been something we wanted to do,” McCutchen said. “We are building a home near family, and we are very excited for the next chapter.

“I can’t believe it has been 10 years working at the Conference. It has been a pleasure and a blessing. I have met and worked with so many wonderful people and made some lifelong friends. It is going to be hard saying goodbye one last time!”

A celebration of her time with the conference is scheduled for Aug. 30.
