2018 Annual Conference Mission Initiative

UMCOR Health Kits

On Tuesday, June 5 – during the 2018 South Carolina Annual Conference – volunteers will package 10,200 UMCOR Health Kits to do our part to support the United Methodist Church’s Abundant Health Initiative.

Volunteers will gather at the TD Convention Center in Greenville to package the kits.

Donations needed

UMCOR Health Kits cost $12 each, so we need your help to raise $122,400 to buy the supplies for 10,200 kits. Donations are still being accepted!

Please note in the memo field that your donation is designated for “Annual Conference Mission Initiative 2018.”

We are accepting financial donations only.
Please, do not bring Health Kits or materials to make them to Annual Conference
.

Volunteers needed

We are encouraging youth groups to come together to help package Health Kits, but individuals – “youth of all ages” – also are invited.

Here’s how the schedule plays out:

  • 2 p.m. – We will be packaging Health Kits starting at 2 p.m. June 5 at the TD Convention Center in Greenville.
  • 4:30 p.m. – Inspired by Bishop L. Jonathan Holston’s Hulapalooza Challenge, we will be trying to break a Guinness World Record for the number of people who can hold hands, forming a long chain of humanity, and step one-by-one through a hula hoop without anyone on the chain losing hold of the hands on either side.
  • Following the hula hoop event, the conference will host a hot dog supper for those youth who registered to volunteer.
