Walterboro raises $4,000 for Imagine No Malaria

During the Walterboro Bishop’s Barbecue Bash Feb. 28, the 492 attendees gave a love offering of $4,000 towards the conference’s Imagine No Malaria initiative.

“The Walterboro District is a living example of the amazing way the Spirit moves us to support God’s work through our global church, carrying out God-sized work in our world. Thank you, Walterboro District,” said the Rev. Jeri Katherine Warden, conference Imagine No Malaria coordinator, who was at the event.

Felecia Holston, co-chair of the Imagine No Malaria Task Force and Bishop Jonathan Holston’s wife, said she is grateful for their support of Imagine No Malaria.

“The money raised will help us reach our goal of raising $1 million in South Carolina,” Holston said. “Throughout the year, we have experienced tremendous excitement and support from laity and clergy across the conference. For those who have not contributed, there is still time.  We need for every church in every district to participate. If this happens, we can achieve our goal of raising $1 million in the South Carolina Conference for the Imagine No Malaria effort.”
