This initiative began with a vision that started to come to fruition in late 2000 to early 2001.  It had been a dream for so long, but now it was becoming a reality.  Through God’s blessings a faithful few were able to take time from their busy schedules to seek out fathers in the community who wanted to become better fathers, better husbands, and better neighbors.  By teaching the National Fatherhood Initiatives Foundations of Fatherhood curriculum, nearly 100 men were engaged or assisted through the program.

Since that time DADS Fatherhood Initiative has continued to operate with just enough funding to cover the expenses of program materials and refreshments for the classes.  Work is being done in the areas of counseling, and teaching fathers who are incarcerated for nonpayment of child support.  Many fathers have no one to be an advocate for them or to help explain things to them.  DADS volunteers do just that.  Through the work of a faithful few, classes are taught with the incarcerated fathers two nights a week.

DADS has continued to maintain and grow as God has directed the steps of this outreach initiative.
The organization has become a 501 (c) 3 organization that will be better equipped to bring much needed funds into our hurting communities.  Having those funds to provide direct services to the people that are in need is the main objective.  Fathers should be in the home, not in jail.

We seek to demonstrate the importance of quality time spent with children through fishing and camping trips.  Through structured activities parents are taught how to spend quality time with their children.
